I am so frustrated right now. I’ve spent the last 4 hours in an AT&T store trying to switch my 3 iPhones from my more expensive Sprint plan.
My wife gets 25% off AT&T from her employer. This would save us about $60 a month IF the stupid phones would work.

AT&T told us this morning that all we needed was to get an Unlock Code from Sprint, for each phone, and they would open our AT&T new account, port our numbers, and then activate our phones on their network.

Sounded great. 4 hours later I can’t even get Sprint to work. AT&T opened an account for us, ported our numbers, and then the iPhones wouldn’t work on thier SIM cards. After hours of tech support calls, scouring the internet on the display models in the store, and finally saying “sorry, we can’t”, I was told to attempt what AT&T Tech Support said (go home, sign into iTunes, and restore from my last back up with the AT&T SIM card and that might work)
But if all else fails, we can put the Sprint SIM card back into the iPhone and call Sprint tech Support and ask them to restore your service.

Well, after all else failed, so did Sprint. I called and they transferred me to “new accounts”, and then transferred me back cause my account is not new, only to tell me that I need to get my account number form AT&T (which I didn’t know I had) and go to a Sprint Store tomorrow and have them port my 3 phone numbers back from AT&T.

My fear now is that Sprint is going to try to use this as a means to force us to sign up for a new 2yr account (we have been paying monthly as our contract was over).

If that is the case the only other option I have is as AT&T suggested after I was in their store for 3-4 hours…buy new phones from AT&T and sell my 3 4s’s. I will get less that $100 for each and the 5s costs over $600 each.

I am wondering if this was the plan the AT&T associate had all along. Get our iPhones messed up and force us to buy new ones, while making Sprint look bad. I don’t know…the sales rep at AT&T seemed really nice and to genuinely try to fix this.

But, had she a doubt that she may not get them all on AT&T she shouldn’t have attempted the other 2 iPhones. She could have left them alone until she sorted out the first one. At least then the three of us would have phones. Right now we have expensive, time consuming, paperweights.

The only thing that makes this worse was the fact that the carpet on the concrete floor at AT&T wasn’t very thick and after standing so long I am having foot pain (they had no chairs either).

Now I have to go to the Apple Store to see if I can get any straight answers about what is happening as both AT&T and Sprint may be manipulating me. Then I have to, depending on what they say, go to one carrier or the other to try to get these three, less than year old 4s’s, to work on somebodies service.

Does anyone have any experience that would help me?
