Help minimize key ring and add functionality

So my keychain seems to have gotten out of control: 

The problem is that my key ring is so big I just won’t carry it, and it’s not even that functional. The microfiber cloth is definitely not helping, either.

My basic plan is to create two rings; one that I carry in my pocket always and one that lives in my bag most of the time. What have you guys done to minimize your key ring that you love?

I’d also like to add some functionality, what tools do you guys love on your keyring? I’m also thinking of adding a pocket clip, but am also worried about it interfering with other items in my pocket. Thoughts?

Finally, I hate the split rings! Anything better (maybe that allows quick reconfiguration)?
