I’ve been looking into purchasing a new backpack and so far have narrowed my options down to the Osprey lineup due to the warranty and positive reviews. I will be using this for college, and when necessary, travel (not very often). I’m currently looking into the Comet and Nebula, and am leaning towards the Comet due to its smaller size and more usable (?) water bottle pockets. However, I have no convenient way of checking out either pack in real life and will be ordering online, so reviews of either pack will be useful to me. If anyone with experience with the Comet/Nebula packc could answer the following questions that would be great:
Roughly what are the dimensions when lightly and fully packed?
Does the pack stand up on its own?
How large is the main compartment, and how well does the pack compress when not fully loaded?
Is the laptop pocket padded on the sides or bottom, and how securely does it hold a laptop (I suppose this question only applies to the Comet)?
How durable are the materials used?
How water-resistant is the pack?Since the backpack I currently have is on the small side, if anyone has fit pictures of the Comet and can post them that would be great – I’m 5’11” and have no idea how such a pack would look on me. Any additional pictures of the backpack, particularly each inside compartment, would also be appreciated.
Advice and suggestions for other similar packs are always welcome
