Help Needed With Stubborn Knife

FULL DISCLOSURE: This a Chinese knockoff. I knew that when I purchased it and I’m OK with that. Please refrain from lectures or judgment on this point.

When it arrived, I tried opening it using the thumb stud. No dice. I loosened the pivot screw with no improvement. The blade was tight against one side and rubbed when opening and closing the blade. The seller recommend oiling, which I did. Then I centered the blade.

There’s still no noticeable improvement. It takes 2 hands to open. The seller said it was designed that way. So why the thumb stud??

Anyway, I’m looking for suggestions from the knowledgeable gurus here on the forum. Is there anything I can do to improve the performance? Thanks in advance.
