help with nurses work edc

my g/f kazz will be starting placments soon at her nursing uni cource. i wondered if any doctors / nurses out their have any tips for bits of edc that are handy to have on the ward. as im trying to get her work edc in order before she starts at any placments at a hospital.

so far she has been recomended to have;

fob watch,
pens,
sissors,
small flashlight.

any other idears?
