Hey guys, I’m an NREMT-B here, and working my way up, and while talking to my teachers (and other med. professionals) I was told that the hemostatics that are the granule type are generally disliked by ER staff because they have to go in and dig it all out versus the Pad or Gauze type where they just pull it off the wound and get to work. An exception to this would be the Celox applicator that’s for puncture wounds, because you just can’t get the gauze or pad into a puncture/GS wound. Just thought I’d pass the information along because i know several of you EDC hemostatics, some of you the granule type.

    Stay Frosty,
    JG
