I needed the mechanix gloves today as the temperature at the range was 37 with a good wind! All three magazines were rotated thoughout the firing of 110 rounds of Winchester white box, and 25 rounds of American Eagle 230 grain hardball ammo.
The 15 yard offhand group.
At round 87 I experienced a failure to extract/doublefeed. The extractor overrode the case which was sticking halfway out the chamber. I gently pushed it out with a rod. I discovered the case had split! This was a factory Winchester white box round about 5 years old.
The base of the split case. After this, the gun continued without a hiccup. All mags performed flawlessly. The gun is a natural point-shooter. Due to the heavy slide, there is no felt recoil. I enjoyed the gun and will shoot it often. It was great fun, and utterly dependable. And rated for +P ammo too!
