First off a disclaimer: If you open your Suunto Core, you void the warranty. My one is already out of warranty for years, and I have sent it in to fix an un-responsive button before. They charged me, and I had no Core for weeks. So: you can fix it yourself. Here’s how.
Pop off the bezel, works well with a Vic blade. Remove the ratchet ring, and you will spot 4 tiny screws. Once these are removed, the glass cover will come off.
There is a silicone seal, still on the watch in the pic, you can remove that to if you like. I left it where it was. You can now lift out the watch mechanism.

The buttons contacts are copper and they are bent in a way so a button press makes contact and closes a circuit. See the pic trough a Vic magnifier to see the copper contact plates.

Using a paperclip and a small screwdriver, I bent the copper plates to a more outward bulging shape. the most outward point is where the button will touch it. It is a bit fiddly, I could not have done it without the magnifier. Put the mechanism back in the housig to test the buttons. If all good, close it up in reverse order. You could put some oil on the sealing if you like. For me, the end result is very good, all 3 buttons are now very tactile, and work great. Saved 50 Euro repair costs today.
