I need a messenger bag that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.

I’m currently using a bag that was intended to transport a PlayStation 2, and it works surprisingly well. But I’m needing a bit more space. I’ve found a few on Amazon that were in the $45 range, but with very mixed reviews. Leather is a plus, but something in good canvas would be great as well. I’m carrying a few notebooks, an iPad, chargers for all the devices, and random other things in my daily kit. What have you got to suggest for me? Thanks!
