After swinging out into Apocalypse-Proof EDC territory for a while, I’ve swung back in the other direction and am stripping my EDC down to the essentials.
Looking for a minimalist multitool or Swiss Army-style knife that is small enough to sit on my keyring so I can jettison the pocket knife.
Ability to use the tools while remaining attached to the keyring is a must-have. I tried the Swiss+Tech key tool, and while a great idea, this was a dealbreaker to me personally.
I’m specifically only interested in the following tools (as I’ve either never used the others or have access to full-size tools or similar when needed):
- Knife blade
- Bottle opener (combined with a can opener or other tool is fine)
- Serrated saw blade
I’m willing to mod as needed as long as it’s technically simple and can be done with basic tools and a Dremel (no milling or machining). But bonus points if there’s something similar already out there.
I’m aware of the Leatherman Micra one-half mods, and that may be an option. Would appreciate other ideas.
