Hey Folks, MOJO here. Been lurking for about a week now and just had to get in on the fun.

Diphenhydramine (Benadryl), is an antihistamine, great for use in allergic reactions.

I was looking through my FAK I made a few weeks ago and realized, wow I don’t have any benadryl in my kit, what if someone was having an allergic reaction. I could potentially save someone from going into anaphylactic shock, possibly a life. Im an intensive care nurse by profession, and thought I was pretty well set up with my FAK.

How many people carry benadryl in their kits? How about you parents who have kids? I figured I would throw that out there.

Please if you don’t carry benadryl, do some research to make sure you know about the drug. You should know about all the drugs in your kit, and when to give or not to give a medication, before you carry them. Some medical decisions in the field can make or break emergency care.

    Any Thoughts? :(
