I’ve googled and confused myself. Many many options.

Just looking for tips and favs…

Sort of leaning towards Comp-Tac MTAC

And to confuse things even more… Standard clips, J or C style clips… I like J but worry about stability.

Aliengear cloak tuck 3. Very comfortable as holsters go.

    Sent from the tundra.

My favorite is by a guy I found on YouTube.

He’s probably going to get inundated with requests because one of his videos got featured on a popular blog. But, if you’re not running a dot sight, the Haley Strategic INCOG is very similar.

There are 3 main things I like about it.

It’s fast….not like duty or competition holster fast, but faster than strong side or behind the hip concealment for me.

It’s easy to conceal. The Haley/g-code angled clips make tucking a chore, and they kinda stick out more than they tuck the gun in…but….apparently if I wear the holster on a thin belt inside my pants, I can conceal a full size gun with a tucked-in shirt.

There’s a reload right there. Always.

The added plus of aiwb, if you can get away with it and are comfortable with a muzzle pointing at your junk, is that you don’t have to size-up the way you do with other carry positions. At least, I don’t.

    Standard clips are the best.

J clips put the weight on the pants, which means they’ll sag with the belt just kind of being there. Not a fan.

C clips are at least as obvious as standard clips, possibly more so because they’re thicker. They work about as well but are harder to put on.

The Haley/g-code angled clips are good too…I’m not sure I have a preference between them.

If whatever you go with has metal clips…wrap them in electrical tape or be prepared for frayed pants in a matter of weeks.

While I’m thinking about it…I don’t like pull the dot loops. They’re harder to put on and don’t seem to work any better than standard hooks.

Thank you Moostapha for the great info!

I am coming from a G19 and a crossbreed. I don’t know if I was doing it wrong but I was comfortable drawing from the 4 o’clock pos but I could not make it comfortable to wear at all, not to mention sitting and pinching.

I thought I would try out a sub sub compact? Pocket pistol? Whatever the term… Now I have a little ammo quantity anxiety. I was maybe going to try a horizontal typical surplus store soft pouch OWB.

Between IWB holster, reload, and multitool in a skinth, I am running out of belt space.

    UPDATE
After some coffee and googling this morning I placed a order for a Remora. They get great reviews, apparently customer service is top notch, the price point isn’t bad, and worse case I can use it to store the gun in.

Give the remora a try, but…honestly, I just don’t like hybrids (like the crossbreed holsters). I still own an alien gear and have tried a few others, including a supertuck.

They take up a lot of space and, to me, are less comfortable than straight kydex. It’s something about the way they insulate my skin, stick to my underwear, and let the pistol move just a bit.

After I tried straight kydex, I saw no reason to go back.

And, yeah….everyone’s priorities are different. Having something on you all the time (when legal) is the important part.

I still don’t shoot sub compacts well enough for my own taste….I can keep them on a USPSA target at 7 yards, but at the same speed, I shoot all As with a full size (not competition speed, but not slow either).

Add to that having a lot less ammo, and it’s worth the trouble to me…especially after I figured out the second belt thing.

Not to cloud the issue and confuse things more but you might want to take a look at clinger holsters. I have their stingray for my xds and I’ve been really happy with it. The prices are very fair and they have a pretty quick turnaround time too.
