Kabutons, non defensive uses?

Not sure why, but I’m attracted to flat end kabutons. Don’t have one and as far as using something like this in a defensive sitiuation, I have a 4Sevens Quark 2AA that would more likely be more practical. But my question is, do you guys have any uses for Kabutons, other than something on the keys to grab onto whilst it hangs out of the pocket or whatever like a lanyard? Only thing that comes to my mind and I could use my Quark in a similar fashion, would be putting it through multiple plastic grocery bags for carry so all of the handles are in the middle of the kabuton and between my middle and ring fingers when I grab it. Only other things I can think of are breaking ice during the winter and using it to (carefully) strike a widgy to open something stubbornly stuck (likely frozen). I’d picture myself having 550 cord tied to the widgy and kabuton for safety. Thoughts?
