weird question for you guys. I am playing around with a bit of stone washing blades, tools, and various things.
I love the look of stone washed titanium, i don’t know about you guys, especially the finish on Peter Atwood regular titanium finished tools.
Now, does anyone know for this look, do guys etch the surface with something before the stone washing? So far i haven’t been able to get that nice darker look that a lot of guys get with stone washing. Thanks for any advice.
Again, just to clarify, i know stone washing, but I am going for that “darker” look, like on Atwood tools, or other things i see on here….
I know some guys use some type of etchant before stonewash, Im wondering if that’s what will give me that look. Any suggestion on the etchant if that is the case?
in my pic, i am referring to the finish on the bead blasted Gray bead, same as the Atwoods, TEC inchworm, same as the Solid Ti ring from Sbakker….

thanks again for any help, I’ve been wondering this for a while now and no luck so far.
