So, was watching an older TV series this week(starsky and Hutch), and this guy(Hutch) kept wearing these cargo pants with a pocket arrangement I’d never seen. And that actually looks kinda nice! Did some research, and digging around on popular styles of the time period, and finally found out what they were/are; Levis Bush Pants, or Bush Jeans.

What it is, is basically a regular 5 pocket jean setup with two extra pockets, and some flaps. The back pockets having button or snap down flaps, and the front of the thighs each having a patch pocket with button/snap down flaps. The originally came in denim, or a twill.

Come to find out that Levis still makes them!(or actually makes them again, they were discontinued at one point) This time in denim only, as far as I can tell. Google; “Levi’s 513 Slim Straight Bush Pants”

The problem is, these are slim/trim athletic cut jeans… After all, the originals were in the 70s, and that look is (unfortunately) back again now.. These are trendy/designer jeans at a MSRP of $98… :nah_disagree:

So, what I’m wondering is; Is there anything in this pocket arrangement, with a couple cargo pockets on the Front of the thigh area, in a normal or relaxed cut/fit?

Denim”Jeans”, twill, canvas, etc or otherwise?

    Any thoughts or ideas?

My Duluth Trading fire hose work pants come close, but they are bigger and more complex pockets than what I’m after here. Having those is actually what makes these look so interesting… I love the DT pants, but the pockets are too big. If DT did them with the pockets about 60% their current size, I’d LOVE them!

T.H.Cone, since he seems to be the cargo/carpenter pants king(I know you hate cargos Coney, but figure maybe you’ve seen something similar?)
