I was out busting ice off my roof the other evening (yes, know not the best idea in the world.) I found that holding a light and trying to hammer while also trying to keep my balance is not easy to to. I also learned that the one headlight I do have is woefully inadequate.
So my question is which headlight should I get? Some of my criteria are 1- an easy UI, I don’t want to have to mess around cycling through 50 levels of disco mode while hanging onto a ladder strobing my neighbors 2nd floor window (awkward.) 2- Being able to use w/ gloves, presumably it will be cold and I will not want to be taking my gloves off and on. 3- Good color retention, I would like to be able to tell the difference between a wet spot and ice my back and limbs thank you in advance for saving any slips. 4- Good head retention, again because My hands will probably be occupied I don’t want to be mucking about with adjusting the thing. Prefer a little more flood, don’t need a lot of throw maybe out about 20-30 feet.
I’ve looked a little bit at some zebra lights they look nice but I am easily confused by alphabet soup involved with browsing them. The other brand I’ve heard about is Petzl but I have no knowledge about them. Thank you EDCF’ers for any help you can give me.
