It’s like there’s a hole in my soul. It’s like I had a third arm and I’ve lost it. I stopped by the local knife shop and they don’t carry Victorinox tools anymore (something about how Vic changed distribution policies or something).
So, I bought a Leatherman Blast to keep me company until I can get another one. I was real wishy washy about the Spirit in the beginning, but after EDC’ing it every single day for something over a year now, literally nothing else seems to measure up now. The smoothness, the polish, the feeling in my hand, the familiarity of the tool layout. Ugh.
That said, the Blast has everything I need tool wise. It would be nice if it had an awl and I really loved the pry bar/chisel on the Spirit…I used that quite often. The Micro screwdriver could be useful though. It weighs about an oz less but is also thicker. We’ll see how I warm up to it.
I also scored a used Leatherman Crunch for a mere $20. I had no idea these things were as small and compact as they are. I can see myself using this one a lot. The vice grip plier is different but gives you a lot of power in a really compact package. I would gladly give up the knife for a pair of scissors though…that would be awesome.
