I found out a few months ago during our states legislative session that since our state got the lottery a few years ago that technically if you go into pay for gas at places that sell lotto tickets you can not legally carry your firearm. Our concealed carry laws were written well before we got a lottery and the lottery did nothing to allow carry in these type of “gaming sites” and our legislature still hasn’t seen fit to change the law. I am wondering if there are other states that have this same issue, and I am also wondering if a lot of states do, they might not be changing it thinking it might mean they could lose reciprocity with some states? I think it’s fairly stupid to say a guy walks in the store for often less than 2 minutes just to pay for gas or even at a grocery store that sells lotto you’re now breaking the law. Now it will be at least another 2 years before there is even a chance to clear up the language to provide for carry in stores that sell lotto tickets.
