So I was looking for another way to improve my keys and came across this little gem while forum surfing

Pretty cool, but I was skeptical that it would come apart pretty easily. Lucky Line has a couple models, and this one is the “Twisty” model. The only way to release the key chain/re-attach it is to do this

Not something that one would expect to happen very often to your key ring right? I’ve read here and there about them coming off, and a guy could potentially crimp it, it’s actually designed for that if one so desired, but why ruin it permanently? If you crimp it, and need to add a key, you have to buy a new one. My Idea is to take a small bit of heat shrink and wrap it around the locking part, that way I can cut it off if I need to re-open it.

The cable is wrapped on this one, but it’s clear. A little bit of hunting on eBay will land you the colorless one for about $5. They also have red and blue ones. I like it a lot, and will probably swap these on my work keys for the blue lucky line twistys, (my company uniform color).

The reason I like it so much on my car keys is that I didn’t notice it. I usually rearrange my keys in my pocket because they don’t always sit right, but after putting this on there, I don’t have to mess with them so much any more. You can get a 5 count on eBay for something like $12 or so, not too shabby IMO.
