I recently started EDC-ing my copper Maratac AAA light on my Maxpepition Gear Retractor. I hang it from the first belt loop on the right hand side of my pants. That leaves it hanging in front of my pocket in easy reach of my right hand. Having it hanging has had bonuses I hadn’t counted on, namely that it can simply hang there. This gives you poor light but two free hands in poor light is still two free hands in poor light. Now I’m all for redundancy but I now have a KSF pocket sheath (1 of 2) w/either a Fenix or Solitaire LED and the hanging Maratac. My problem really is that I really love my copper Maratac but it doesn’t go in any of my pocket sheaths so it isn’t in rotation. Anyway, give hanging lights a try. Just avoid the temptation to turn it into the janitor’s keyring. I fight it everyday, twenty four hours a day. I haven’t cracked and I wont see the people I turn on to it lose that battle. I wont see you go down the dark path of clutter. Think of it as a piece of jewelry.
