I recently had a .22lr pistol fire while trying to clear a jam/stovepipe. Is it possible for the extractor to pull hard enough on a shell rim to fire the charge?
There was a empty stovepiped and the live round hand the empty trapped between it and the inside of the ejection port. When I brought the gun down from the firing position to pull the slide open so I could clear the jam the gun fired. My finger wasn’t anywhere near the trigger but it all happened so fast I do not know if the hammer fell.
