Modding a SOG Pocket Powerplier (to knifeless) ?

Hi gentlemen,

I am desperately trying to find a knifeless multitool. The Knifeless Fuse from Leatherman being discontinued, I am looking at the possibility of removing the blade of a SOG Pocket Powerplier.

Is it as simple as removing the blade ? Or do you need to replace it with washers or something in order other tools not to go loose ?
