KeymasterOK, bear with me, this is the first time I am trying to put images on here. If you all have any suggestions on how to do it better/differently, please let me know.
This is my EDC FAK. The pouch is part of a 3 pack set sold at Lowes, the whole set cost $10. I carry this in my current EDC bag, a North Face Recon backpack. I was using a Maxped Colossus, but it is Way too small for all my needs. But I digress……..
I have suited the contents to what I have found my family and I need when we are out and about. I have placed the ubiquitous red paracord lanyard on it to act as an identifier and grab handle. Also one as a zipper pull. The contents are as follows:
-Altoids tin with assorted band aids and a couple of Staphaseptic packs (they were freebies from an order I just got)
-A few 4×4 gauze pads
-Roll of 1″ medical tape
-A few Tegaderm patches
-Anti Itch (bug bite) spray
-Triple Antibiotic spray
-Hand lotion (good for cold weather, you never seem to have any when needed)
-Nail Clippers (works well on hangnails, splinters, clipping off a hanging piece of skin if need be)
-Ziploc bag w/ numerous OTC meds (Aleve, Benadryl, Ibuprofen, Immodium, Aspirin, Dayquil/Nyquil tabs, Tums, Alkaseltzer)I also have a small card that I typed up and laminated with both adult and child doses. I think the only other thing I plan on including is a nice set of splinter tweezers. While the nail clippers do work, they don’t do as good a job as a regular set of tweezers. Also plan on getting some chapstick cream. y using the cream there is no cross contamination if you just squeeze some on a finger and apply it like that.
As soon as I snap some pics of my larger FAK (for camping trips/travel, etc.) I will post them.
