I finally purchased my first firearm yesterday. I have been planning on getting one for a while now, but there were two guys who came into my church Sunday that made a lot of people feel extremely uncomfortable. I felt like I had no way to defend my family and those around me. I hate that feeling.
Well, come to find out, one of them had a violent record, so we’ve asked them not to come back anymore. That was the first straw.
Then, Monday there was a home invasion at a home less than a mile away from where I live. The home owner was shot and killed. He and I are in the same profession. That was the last straw.
Feeling defenseless in my own home was unacceptable. So, I went out and bought the gun I had been planning on buying for quite some time. I was through feeling like I couldn’t protect my wife or myself in my own house.
So I picked up my Ruger SR9C. Love this little gun. Have been dry firing it a lot yesterday and today, and am looking forward to getting out to the range this weekend to break it in.

Love the fact that it came with the concealable mag, as well as the extended mag with the adapter to fill in the gap.
I just picked up a cheap blackhawk IWB soft holster for around the house carry.
Next on the list is the enroll and take my concealed carry course.
