Picked up a Midori Traveler a couple weeks ago when visiting Calgary on business. I’d read the reviews and how beloved the Midori set-up is so I figured I’d give it a try……Problem….. the stationary store I was dealing with only have the unlined inserts for the travelers. Now I know some people prefer writing without lines in their books but I need them otherwise my notes quickly start resembling abstract art and no one in my city carries Midori so I figured I’d be ordering online. I got back home and noticed that the Midori books were the same height as my much loved Apica and Rhodia notebooks. A quick measure and a trip to Staples and I have two Apica CD11’s and a Rhodia book chopped down to fit the Traveler. (I used Staples cause their cuts are clean and precise, unlike my own).
Add to that a couple of Big I Design PHX-Pens with Hi-Tec C inserts (one blue, one brown) and a couple of added pocket clips salvage of a couple of Zebra F-402 pens, a homemade file folder insert filled with index cards on one side and empty for receipts on the other, and the plastic Midori zippered insert with pouches on the backside holding my Standard Memorandum date book and I now have a three book, 2 pen, portable office that is about half the weight of the padfolio I was hauling around. On a whole I’m quite happy with the Midori and the PHX pens
