I do medical…”stuff” with a Civil War reenactment group. As a bonus to this, I get to be first responder to plenty of octogenarians face-planting in 90+ degree weather, decked out in dark wool and leather. My Chinese oxymeter took a crap on me over the winter (that, or I have a resting heart rate of 13bpm). So I want to invest in some new gear for this summer.

    Here’s what I’m looking for:
-Something easier than my wristwatch and fingers for getting a heart rate
    -Something to tell me O2sat
-Something easier than a cuff/steth to tell me BP

    Here are the requirements:
    -About $100 budget
-Fairly durable, a little bit of moisture resistance would be nice, as it did rain during the war
-Compact enough to live in my costume haversack, the space I could dedicate is about what a FR-1 from Maxpud could hold.

    Any help would be appreciated.
