Ok, hopefully this is an easy one for you all to answer.

I need a new pen… Prerequisites are as follows

    1. Must accept fisher space pen refill.(I know people have their opinions but I actually write in the rain a lot and inverted more then I would prefer.)

    2. Must be machined out of something that can be thrown out of a helicopter and still function

    3. As close to a standard pen size as possible. (Currently using a S&W and it is a little bulky. Length is about right). I wear gloves and have large hands. Write in rain clicky pens are about the right size. They fit in flight suits work well with gloves. Design fails though.

    4. Simple design. A cap that “snaps” on or is otherwise securely held in place.

    5. A “sanitized” design, one that doesn’t scream “look I’m a weapon” I don’t like advertising. Besides with TSA the way they are now I have given away too much stuff.

    6. Bottom line:
I need an extreme use PEN.
    Period.
I’m not looking to single handedly assault a shopping mall filled with zombies armed only with a pen. (Anything UZI = ridiculous.. dna extraction really… If I need to collect dna after an action a sponge is more effective)

That said all those uses for a pen LEOs talk about. Well there ya have it.

    Runners up:

Tough writter – not a fan of the multiple step downs not a lot of fans found on EDC forum to backup. The point is a little obvious.

United Cutlery defense pen – fears of mall brand items, unless I am mistaken. Again no EDC forum backup.

Surefire series – the clicky looks cheaply made and a source of failure. Almost perfect design as far as not identifying itself as a weapon. Appears to be bulky.. your opinions appreciated.

Hinderer pen – looks smaller then standard size, I have large hands and wear gloves regularly so they are clumsy. If this isn’t the case please let me know.

Ok. There are some specifics I would love to pool your knowledge base and find the perfect pen.

    KP
