So most of you remember me asking about a good 2xaa flashlight for SAR a while back, and I settled on the NiteCore D20 R2. I just want to say how amazing this light is. I was on a mock search last week and had a chance to really use it. What I noticed was that half or 3/4 power is plenty bright enough, though when you really want to see something, being able to push it up to 200 lumens was so nice. The battery life just fine, I was going for a few hours, and on the way out I noticed the brightness dim. However, I was able to push it to the max and get the light I wanted to get out of the woods. I’m deffinitly going to want to invest in a good headlamp, and another aa or 2xaa powered light for backup. Either way, thanks all!
