Keymaster25 year old US Army issued ALICE packs that came into my possession yesterday (2 large and 1 medium). Including one pack frame.
Also got an Army issue duffel (also about 25 years old)
Not sure if I’ll keep them or sell/trade them at the local milsurp store.December 16, 2025 at 11:54 am #134148admin
KeymasterHoly cow, those bring back memories…still have my issued dufflebag from ’93. I’d hold on to that one.

KeymasterFunny, those old ALICE pack weren’t made from 1050D Cordura like we all demand, yet hold up very well.

KeymasterI’m definitely keeping the duffle. It’s in good shape for its age. The packs are too, for the most part. The snap hardware is corroding a bit in a few places and one of the large packs has some stitching thats going to need to be repaired before I would use it. Otherwise, in good shape overall.

KeymasterThis is something like my … well, something between EDC and GHB … when I usually move within certain smaller distance from my home, I carry a UTG Jumbo-clone with my EDC gear. When going farther away, I pack this one:

It is originally a camera bag with a notebook 15,4″ compartment, Kata DR-i467 with two noname pouches – flat for stuff like gum, smokes etc in the left, larger for tissues, bugspray, knifes etc. on the right. I’ve had this bag for years and really love it. It’s about 25litres/850oz, has one flat and two large compartments (the two can be merged) plus three flat plus one mesh originally set to hold tripod legs – now holding a bottle.I just returned back to this bag after some time so I added the red pulls and handle to make him happy LOL! 😀

KeymasterI was going to say “Cool!” but, well 🙂 … I don’t think we’ve ever had 37 degrees. Yeah, humidity is a … baby … 😀

KeymasterExperience is a cruel teacher. It gives a test before presenting the lesson.
