Good…really good, mostly. I’m still a bit bitter about having to switch to a backpack at all, and I leave it in the car a lot more than I should.
It doesn’t seem like that much more organization than anything else, but I kept getting the sensation that the bag was full with far too little stuff.
I moved my need kit out of its pouch and into the lower outside pocket, and that made a HUGE difference.

I have quite a few bags/packs. For the last few months I have carried my 32L Kit Bag from GORUCK everyday, but for a recent trip I checked the kit bag and carried my Mystery Ranch Streetfighter. I love this bag.

I really don’t know how I feel about it vs. the trident. It’s more comfortable but harder to access while standing.Like the Goruck. Looks like an awesome bag. I’ve used the original surge for years. Currently looking at the latest surge model. Not sure if I like it or not
The Surge II wasn’t a bad bag at all. I just started shoving everything I possibly could into it, and ended up carrying way more than I needed to do my job. I scaled back to the GR1, and will have a Bullet 15 Friday that I’m going to downsize further into still. I use the Surge II for when I go to BBQ competitions with the smoker and catering jobs, that way I can carry extra clothes and stuff I need. Suite well for that, since I’m carrying extra clothes and stuff.
Surge is a great bag! I still use mine frequently especially when traveling. Have you seen the newest style surge?
