Portable power banks & protected batteries

Hello all,

So today I took delivery of a ‘off brand / generic’ power bank and four
PANASONIC NCR18650B LI-ION BATTERY 3400mAh 3.7v 18650 PVC PROTECTION PCB JAPAN

Further reading, of course done after I purchased everything, the description on the power bank case says not to use protected batteries. Well crap it looks like the batteries I got have the protection circuit in them.

Is there a reason these won’t work in this case?
