Question about Davis Leatherworks cover

For those familiar with the Field Notes simple covers made by Davis Leatherworks, I’ve noticed the description emphasizes that the cover “is designed to hold one 3.5×5.5 notebook.” I was interested in using it in the Midori style to hold 2-3 Field Notes or comparable notebooks. Is the cut on these such that more than one would jut too far beyond the edges?

I was considering making my own Midori-style leather cover for Field Notes, but given the amazing pricing of the Davis products, I think that would be a much wiser approach, if the sizing works.
