Question about tools with Hex bit holes

So I’ve seen a lot of key chain tools with holes for hex bits. Some tools are even equipped with a bit and a way to hold it. My question is: If you have a tool that doesn’t self-store a hex bit, do you carry a hex bit with you? Where do you put it?

Just curious as I’ve seen this pretty frequently.
