Question for doctors or Law enforcement

Being as I regularly have prescrips for meds I need to know. I don’t like carrying the entire bottle with me for fear of theft or loss. These are controlled meds now so here’s the question. If I put them in another bottle and label it with the extra label, part of the receipt, will this be acceptable in the law if I get stopped/searched, etc? I have been doing this awhile with no problem, but have yet to be stopped. Any ideas on the legality of this? Thanks
