KeymasterI’m heading to a pistol class next week and just loaded up my first dedicated range bag. The bag is the competition range bag from Midwayusa. Wanted to show the bag and the load out I’m taking and see what comments suggestions any one has. I’ve got all of the required gear covered for the course. This particular course is Advanced Pistol 1, covering draw techniques, reload, speed reload, malfunctions and shooting on the move. The class is taught by Brad Harbour owner of Action Firearms Training here in MS.
Here’s the bag, check the edc buff storage/zipper pull setup.
Front main pocket, cleaning kit/tools and mags. 4x 229 E2 and 4x 239 (obviously the guns I’m taking to the class).
Small side pouch, two pairs of eyes. My backups/loaners are loose and my Revision set (forget the model name) is in the case.
Staple gun and extra staples. Got some room here, I need to add pens/sharpies.
More cleaing stuff extra patches etc.
Ears, no name academy sports for the spare/loaners and folded in the middle are Peltor Presidents.
Interior, ammo, loose bag, towel, snap caps, guns.
The guns/holsters I’m taking. Both holsters are RCS Phantoms, 229 mag holder is RCS, the 239 mag holder is the Sig paddle holder that came with it. I’ll be shooting the 229, the 239 is just for backup incase of a failure. I don’t expect an issue, but if I were to have one thanks to Murphy it will either be at a class (hopefully) or when my life depends on it going bang.
This bag is heavy loaded out like this. I should stick it on the scales. I think I’ve got about 400 rounds of ammo in there, a couple of the boxes are not completely full. Only had the bag a few days so I can’t say much about the quality/longevity. I’ve had to cut a few threads and I need to take a lighter to a few places on it, but overall I’m happy with it so far for the price.
I also have a FAK bag I will have with me. I’m about to do a thread on it next and I’ll edit this post to add the link.
