Recommend a bag please?

Hi All,
I’ve been jazzing for a new bag (or bags as the case may turn out to be). I can’t seem to decide after loads of research and have finally opted to ask the fine folks here. Price isn’t really so much an object if I can find the right bag.

I’ve got two “tiers” of needs if you will as follows:

1). A “weekend” type of bag. Airplane carry-on capable. The ones I’ve found in the running so far are:

In the running so far:
a. 5.11 Rush 24. Seems like this bag could conceivably carry a few days worth of stuff if smartly packed. I’ve never actually seen one in person so I have no idea. Seems to get a lot of love on the forums and Amazon reviews. Then again, some people don’t think it’s all that.

b. Vanquest Falconer 27. Looks interesting. I just stumbled across this pack today. A bit more expensive.. Wondering why the premium price? Still willing to consider it though.

Applications:
-Laptop 13 Macbook pro / cables
-Clothes, flashlight, and general EDC stuff.
-water
-Mainly using this bag for weekend style trips where I can stretch its use to a few days worth of clothes. I’d rather be able to carry this stuff my back than a suitcase.

Any others I’m missing? Looking for durable construction, quality feel, good organization.

2) An ECD bag. Big enough for a laptop (again the 13 Macbook). This would be basically a somewhat shorter term version of 1 above.
