Hi,
First post here. I found this forum while looking for a nice Retractable Eraser to go with my Rotring 800 and Staedtler 925 25. I write basically exclusively with those two mechanical pencils and love the style, feel, function (and nerdy emotional attachment) of these pencils. Obviously, not much of an eraser on those. I found from reading some posts on this site that no retractable erasers of similar build exist.
So, I had an idea and wanted to see what people thought of it and whether anyone had tried it. I am curious to see if anyone thinks a retractable eraser refill would fit inside of a nice pencil holder and kind of work as a retractable eraser.
For example I was thinking something like a Pentel ZER-2 inside a Staedtler 900 25. I have no idea how these pencil holders grip and hold the pencil in place, therefore I am not sure if they would be able to grip and hold a long eraser.
If anyone has the tools/knowledge of whether this would work please let me know. In my mind it would make the ultimate pencil style eraser…only if it works
