Hi everyone,
for my car door compartment (amongst others) I’m looking for a pair of rugged gloves,
preferably leather (goat leather would be best).
Intended use: lifting heavy stuff, changing tires, driving when it’s cold (not too cold) and of course any emergencies that could arise. The latter explicitly includes run-ins with hostile folks.
While dexterity isn’t an issue they should fit tightly and not come off easy when closed.
Sound easy up till now, right? Here comes the hard part… I’ve looked around quite a lot and haven’t found anything that fits my requirements.
The gloves are NOT supposed to look tactical (this includes the color black). Don’t want to raise any unwanted attention during routine traffic stops or be the guy wearing some Delta-Force attitude adjustment gear riding around in his car or if an incident should occur.
Now, I’ve checked out my favorite go-to workwear brands like Carhartt or Blaklader, still haven’t found what I’m looking for. Either black and covered with obvious plastic protectors all over or the back of the hand is completely covered with elastic lightweight material. At least the knuckles should be covered by heavy-duty material. The easiest way to go would be full leather, I guess.
Edit: To sum it up:
– rugged material (preferably leather esp. goat skin)
– tight fit
– knuckles covered by heavy duty material
– non-tactical, not raising any suspicion
