Just want to start off by saying that this is my first foray into the world of fountain pens. I’m interested in getting the Schrade fountain pen but I was wondering if the head can be screwed off and on to the body of one of Schrade’s “regular” tactical pens and if the cap of the regular pen can be screwed on to the fountain pen’s head. I am going to get one regardless but I’d like to know about this beforehand because, if it doesn’t work, I plan on getting the brown, and, if it does, I want to go with black or silver.
I’ve heard of people using the Monteverde Mini Ink Converter with this because larger ones don’t fit. If the above works, does it accept larger converters, and which ones if so? The nib on the Schrade pen seems to be a cheap low quality one. What’s a good replacement for it?
Noodler’s Bernanke black/blue ink seems to be a good ink for southpaws. Any issues with this ink? Any alternatives for southpaws?
Lastly, how does it feel when writing with this pen for extended periods of time?
I’m also aware of the Lamy Safari, so no need to tell me about it.
