Sharpie pen refills?

I’m a little baffled by the pricing of Sharpie pens and related accessories.

I can pick up a Sharpie pen for $1.50. Or I can get a refillable stainless steel sharpie pen for $5-7 and then pay $2+ per refill. And refills are only available in black.

Is the refillable stainless steel sharpie pen writing experience enough better than the disposable plastic sharpie pen to justify the more expensive refills?

(yes, I get that each refill has a rubber grip on it which explains why it’s more expensive…)
