KeymasterDo any of you carry saline solution bottles? I don’t see them a lot in your FAK. I use them a lot for my eyes, especially in winter, or if I get something really annoying in my eye and I can’t get it out 🙂

KeymasterI do. I carry a few 20ml bottles of 0,9% NaCl.

Keymaster20mL? Wow that’s not a small bottle! I carry the 5mL ones 🙂

KeymasterI don’t, no. They would freeze in my vehicles this time of year.

KeymasterThat’s true. I carry my FAK in my backpack though, and I move it around a lot. I use it regularly too 🙂

KeymasterSaid I’d post mine, so here’s 2 of them. First Picture’s a booboo kit, fits in my bag, jacket pocket, glove box, probably a pants pocket. The 2nd picture is what’s in my bag. Bottom left is a AMK kit gauze, bandaid, etc. Bottom right is AMK space blanket. Top right includes a SAM splint. Top left isn’t first aid. Last picture is quick access. It has gloves, a mouth barrier for CPR, and hand sanitizer wipes. It’s a molle type pouch. The 2nd is in the hydration pouch area of my maxpedition bag. It’s a separate zippered compartment, so why not? The 3rd is on the side of the maxpedition bag.

KeymasterBoo boo kit is for my kids. They think band aids are stickers. I rolled duct tape and 1″ medical tape around a chopstick and cut it. Pain relievers are for me.

KeymasterHere’s my big one I keep on my car. Scissors, CPR mask. SAM splint, manual, and all normal stuff.

KeymasterHere’s my inventory box. I really like the Adventure Medical kits. One of the smaller ones is jam-packed full of extra stuff. The other one is left as I bought it. The large Wal-Mart case is empty. I have two of the little wallet kits pictured. I like them too.

KeymasterMy larger one will have to wait until tomorrow; this is my small one that goes on the leg.

KeymasterYou have a needle decompression kit? What level of First Aid training teaches that?
Semper Paratus, Semper Vigilans.

KeymasterLadies and gentlemen, I give you, TinyFAK:
Knife for size comparison.TinyFAK is contained within an excel mint tin and contains:
4x alcohol swabs in 2 different sizes
3x medium bandaids
2x medium/large size knuckle bandaids
2x Steri-strips
1x 2x2inch gauze pad
Several inches of adhesive tape (wrapped around a card and taped in place on top of the lid – that bulge you see)
2x chewable cherry flavoured pepto bismol, 2x tums, 2x gravol contained in a tiny ziploc bag folded 3 ways and arranged to use the tums to separate the pepto and the gravol.I may add 1 or 2 safety pins as well, although my EDC Altoids tin has extra bandaids and at least 1 safety pin to augment this FAK if needed. Also, my EDC bag has a travel tube with Tylenol, Advil and 2 seasonal allergy pills.
Obviously not nearly as capable as most of the FAK’s here, but I think for its size and weight it’s a decent kit for most basic urban/suburban scenarios. Also, my get home bag/USK has a more robust FAK which I plan to improve on, for more serious first aid needs.

Zip Lock Bags 12″ x 15″ 2 Bottom Slip PocketThese aren’t my pics but this is my bag and contents. I bought the bag, copied the content list, and painstakingly tracked every item down thinking I was going to save money instead of buying the entire kit from them. I take it on vacation, etc etc, I can’t tell you how many times I have used it. When family and friends see, they laugh at me until their kid gets a nasty cut then they think differently. lol The guy that came up with the contents and tracked the bag down is an ER Doc and this is what he carries.
The Velcro plastic bags broke after a few years of hard service. I called the bag supplier and they have a sewing shop that makes them. They ordered me a couple sets so I have a spare now also.
