I know a few Native American tribes had smoked/dried meat (aka, jerky), and some Samurai carried cooked rice for journeys. Though I can’t imagine wet rice won’t get moldy after a few weeks; short of MREs, what other good, simple, good shelf-life and travel-friendly foods would you prepare for having around? My list:
-dried fruits
-dried nuts (no peanuts as they can harbor dangerous mold)
-jerky
Anything else?
