KeymasterThe reason for this post is a series of recent events led me to purchase a Leatherman CX to replace my Trekker that was taken from me. Since then I missed my Trekker and bought a new one BUT today the Skeletool CX has proved it’s worthiness.
First a history about me. I am a long time owner and user of the Original Wave but due to back issues I have to accept that I can no longer wear anything on my belt unless it’s absolutely necessary. So it went into my pocket but that didn’t last long for the Wave and it’s counterparts at least for me is too heavy and too bulky for pocket carry.
So for years I kept my Leatherman Wave with all my Field IT Tool set that I keep in my backpack that primarily lives in the trunk of my car. With that said so no matter the weather hot or cold if I need pliers or/and screwdriver I am going to my car for them.
Today as I am going on a service call I have my SAK Trekker NS Camo on my left and my Skeletool CX on my right. I have a customer that thinks he has a virus and wants me to look at it. I determined it’s a defective HDD but I might be able to get the data off of it if I can get to the HDD. Normally I do this with my Snap-On ratchet screwdriver and sometimes I need my Wave. BUT today, I pulled out my Leatherman Skeletool CX and not only did I take apart the entire computer with ease, but I also didn’t need to get a normal screwdriver nor did I need my driver extender that I bought in addition to the Skeletool.
So any thoughts do I really need both on me has been resolved.
So the purpose of this post/thread is anyone is debating on the reason to have/get a Skeletool CX I can say it like this. If you want a MT in your POCKET not on your belt, and not be too bulky/heavy, then the CX is worth it 100%!!!
