I love my Skinth. Just want to put that out there first. I EDC it. However, from day one, literally, I have been losing pens and caps to it. Day one; I went to get lunch wearing my brand spanking new Skinth. In the pen slot I had my all time favorite pen; the Ti Embassy. It was just right for me, weight was perfect. Walking back to my shop I heard something metal fall. I did a quick check and everything seemed in order and I didn’t see anything on the sidewalk. I get back to the store and realize everything was not in order; I only had the cap to me pen, which is what I felt when I did my quick check.
In a panic I went back to the market to look for it. Asked local shops if anyone saw it or if anyone had turned it in. No and no. I looked in the gutters of the street for weeks afterwords, hoping in vain that it would turn up. No.
So in went my red Embassy pen. I was now aware of the problem so I managed to hold on to it, though there were more than a few close calls. So I decided that that pen was not for the Skinth. I traded my copper Hinderer Investigator for the SS Extreme Duty Hinderer thinking that would solve my problem. Plus if I lost anything it would only be the cap.
Only real problem I thought was that I prefer to write with the Embassy. No big deal and all was good for months. Then I took a longish trip and the cap vanished somewhere between MD and WI. It IS better than losing the pen, but it’s annoying because now I have nothing except a Rotring Rapid Pro pencil which is too small and doesn’t look good in the Skinth.
I was wondering if this is just me. Something I’m doing. Not doing. Bad luck? I have never heard anyone else mention this so I don’t really know if this is a problem or just my stupidity. I’d love to hear from anyone who either has had this problem. Better yet I’d love to hear from someone with a solution to this problem. Thanks.
