I’ve decided that I finally want to start edc’ing a small camera, and knowing nothing about cameras, I’m having a hard time figuring out exactly what I need.

    My criteria is as follows:
    1) Must be small enough that I’m not uncomfortable carrying it, because if I am, I won’t.
    2) Must have decent quality, but I understand that smaller means compromising this.
    3) I don’t know what else I should be asking for here…

Basically, this will be a camera that comes out when I need to, or want to take a snap at something. I’ve been putting it off for a long time, but with the ShotShow coming up in less than a month, I want to have something I can take with me and use conveniently. I’ll be traveling via automobile, from Iowa to Orlando, and who knows what I might want to freeze on the way, or during my stay?

It seems that the Cannon SD40 Elph is a very small camera with impressive specifications, but while “Steves Digicams” gave it a positive review, CNET complained of sanding looking photos and slow capture time. (I’m more concerned with taking quick pictures than taking perfect ones to be honest, Is the lag associated with this unit really that bad?)

Tomorrow I’ll see if I can stop out to a couple stores and hold some cameras of various sizes. Maybe I’m putting too much importance on size and won’t notice a slight increase?
