So, I need a backpack…

I’d like it to have some dedicated pockets for a laptop/iPad, organization pockets for pens, phone etc. Be able to hold some textbooks and other EDC type stuff. But this bag by Aer looks to be a great deal, even if I do have to wait until November, but is it going to be too big? I’m 5’8″ and don’t want to be lugging around a behemoth just for the added convenience when I fly, which is twice a year on average. Thoughts?
