Santa was extra good to me this year and brought a Case Sodbuster. I’ve really enjoyed my Sodbuster Jr and Case CV steel knives, almost a little too much. I’ve always been a little quick to sharpen to my own edge rather than honing or just stropping.
So, with the new knife I’m going to use it as normal but limit any sharpening maintenance. I’ve got two goals in mind 1, to see how long the edge will remain acceptable and 2, to see how long past that I can keep the initial grind of the blade.
Here’s the new knife with it’s older, smaller counterpart.
