I’m still enjoying the looks of that Dice, LordByron! Just kinda wish it had CF scales on both sides. Or is the Titanium light enough where is doesn’t get overly heavy like stainless scales? (I’m generally a fan of the lightweight FRN scales.)December 15, 2025 at 6:18 am #130704admin

Brainstorm it’s definitely a heavier and more substantial knife than the Spydie FRN knives, but it is not much heavier, say, than my Persistence which has full metal liners and G10 scales. It is certainly a lighter knife than it would be in stainless.
Despite its burliness, it is really well balanced and has a fantastic feel in the hands. The jimping is perfect, both on the spine ramp and on the choil, so that you can very comfortably hold it in either a classic, handle-only grip or you can choke up on it with a thumb-ramp and choil grip for really fantastic fine control. The ergos on this knife are just plain stellar and the fit and finish is pretty much perfect. It is really a fantastic EDC if you want a substantial feeling knife that is still firmly small-to-medium sized. Think of it as a slightly longer Dragonfly that has spent a year in the gym and now can do competitive weightlifting. It’s still pretty compact, but it is muscular as heck. 😎Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk… Typos guaranteed!

KeymasterMy Frankenfly made a successful attempt to escape from my pocket yesterday, here is where I found it again:

Just curious if Spyderco’s wiry clip is known to do this? I found it loose in my pocket a few days earlier too when I was sure I had it clipped on there. I find it a little odd because this has never happened with any of my other knives while the DF has the tightest clip of them all funny enough.

That’s why we buy big fat folding knives 😀 They can’t escape with all the friction and weight!December 15, 2025 at 6:20 am #130712admin

Pfff, big fat folding knives, amateurs.. :p 😉[IMG]
All kidding aside though, do you really think the lack of weight has something to do with it? I thought there were plenty of people who carry the little DF clipped to the pocket?
