Hey PM2 owners, got a query.

I have had my PM2 for less than 48hrs and I have always been a tip up carry kind of guy but this thing feels like it wants to be tip down.
Hard to explain but every time I pull it from my pocket I automatically try to open it tip down style.
I suspect I might have a muscle memory from a similar feeling Spyderco from a long time ago.

Does anyone else find the PM2 feels like it wants to be tip down?
I have a Chinese knockoff, but its the same size and feel. Just crap steel and stuff. But I like it tip up. I must say though, that it’s one of the few knives I am comfortable with carrying tip down. It doesn’t feel weird like others do.

So I kind of get what you’re saying
But still tip up for me.

I didn’t notice anything odd when I switched it to tip up, though I must admit it felt pretty good tip down too, I just switched for consistencies sake.

Yesterday, my nephew joined my wife & I for lunch. He’s 20 btw. I saw a metallic handled folder clipped in his pocket. Bein’ the knife idgit I am, I made him pull it out & show me what he was carryin’. It was a damned Baby food knife! A paraframe to be exact. AND the 2nd one he’s bought!!! And on top of that, it’s falling apart like his 1st one did. I told him, if he’d quit carryin’ that POS, I’d give him one of my collection. Went home and picked him out one of my Enduras. My FFG FDE to be exact. I think he’ll be happy. When he finishes college, I think he’ll get my Lg. Insingo.

Think I will keep it tip up for a while a (the way I generally prefer it) and see if the sensation persists.

It took me a while to realise this knife feels just like a Spyderco Renegade I had from 1995 onwards that was tip down configured. My hands could feel what my memory struggled to recall!

    Thanks for your thoughts!

I guess I’m back in the club!!! I went and did something stupid and got myself another Spyderco!!!!:p It’s like the town I grew up in, no matter how many times I move away, I keep going back to it!!!

This one is a SALT-1. We’ll see how long I keep this one for. On the plus side it’s stainless, lite, and serrated.

Been out of the loop recently, out of town on a most horrible job, I did have these gems with me to help ease the pain though :smoke:

Excuse my ignorance but what it the lyre shaped tool? You have a purpose built holster for it too by Spyderco…is it some kind of sharpening device?

It is a Byrd Duckfoot knife sharpener. Great for Chisel grind, flat grind and serrated blade sharpening.

You can also sharpen awls and sharp pointy things too. :wavespin:
