Why thank you! The paramilitary is a Chinese fake, but still decent enough for the €20 I paid for it.December 15, 2025 at 8:41 am #131284admin

KeymasterGoodmorning! I was wondering if any of you spidy fans could help me out regarding the pm2. I’ve disassembled it once, but was unable…more like unwilling, to pry the liners and scales from that beveled lanyard tube. It almost seems like it’s just not meant to be removed. So, if any of you guys have removed it, (and put it back together), any advice would be greatly appreciated!

This begs the question, SheriffCharles: How do you spot a fake PM2? To my untrained eye, they all look the same. Are there particular Spyderco models that are targeted by imitators? Or are fakes a problem across the board?Inquiring minds want to know. Please educate us! 🙂

The G-10 looks all wrong, it’s too uniform. The G-10 also has a white hue which also gives it away. There are tons of youtube videos that explain alot. Always buy from a reputable dealer or directly from SFO. I personally would stay away from Ebay, Amazon or any sketchy seller. I saw fake PM2’s at my local flea market, they are everywhere.

KeymasterThe recent models to look our for fakes are: Military, PM2, Southard, Domino, Endura, Civilian and Dragonfly.
Also Vallotton sub-hilt
I personally find it wrong to purchase fakes, Not only is the seller stealing from a great company they are also making substandard garbage that I wouldn’t trust. I use my spyderco knives and I would want them to perform as they should. If you want to fill your safe with fakes, more power to you, but that’s all they are…fake garbage in the end.
If you want to know where to safely purchase genuine Spyderco knives, please PM me.

Has anyone besides me ever noticed the Spyderco logo actually looks more like a tick than any kind of a spider/spyder I’ve ever seen? I’ve been wondering about this for some time and last night finally sent Sal an eMail asking him about the history of their icon.Carl
BTW, nice picture Joost!
